Oasis made amends for having to cancel their Paris show a few weeks back when over 40,000 people turned out after the football on TV to see them deliver a blistering performance at the City's Place de la Republic last night . Many fans afterwards, including those who'd traveled from the UK, commented it was the best they had ever seen the band.
Earlier in the week Oasis found themselves stranded at Munich airport when air traffic control chaos in southern Europe caused them to miss their connecting flight to Marseilles. Having no way to get to their gig at le Dome in Marseilles on time, and desperate to not let down the awaiting 3000 fans, the band chartered a private jet. They arrived at the gig with 15 minutes to spare, took to the stage and played a storming gig! See this review in The Times.
